Erika Svanström has been appointed responsible for Public Affairs at Svenska Spel. She most recently came from her own consulting business and will take up her new position at Svenska Spel on 2 November 2020.
Joakim Mörnefält, Communications Director of Svenska Spel said “I am very happy to welcome Erika Svanström to Svenska Spel. She will have an important role as responsible for our activities in Public Affairs. As a state-owned gaming company, Svenska Spel will be a role model for the industry. We want to take that responsibility on a broad front. This includes creating increased knowledge and awareness of the challenges that the industry faces in the long and short term vis-à-vis our decision-makers.”
Erika Svanström has extensive experience from local, regional and national politics. She has also worked with Public Affairs with a focus on international competition, changing legislation and government-related issues regarding sustainable business. Erika Svanström has most recently worked as a consultant and has been an advisor in Public Affairs issues at Svenska Spel since April 2019. Before that, she was communications manager at Sveriges Åkeriföretag.
Joakim Mörnefält. went on to say “The gaming industry is undergoing major changes, including the government’s ongoing gaming market investigation, which is extremely important for getting order and order in the industry. It is therefore valuable to be able to strengthen with Erika’s solid competence.”
