Oddschecker Global Media Acquires SuperScommesse, Strengthening Its Position in Italy

Oddschecker Global Media (OGM), renowned for its leading odds comparison site and as a popular betting destination, has announced its acquisition of the distinguished Italian sports network SuperScommesse from Catena Media. This strategic move solidifies OGM’s expansion in Italy, Europe’s second-largest betting market, and reinforces its status as Italy’s premier sports betting advertising enterprise.

The acquisition synergistically aligns with OGM’s existing European operations, notably its media partnerships with Gazzetta (La Gazzetta dello Sport) and DAZN. These partnerships already command a substantial reach, engaging millions of unique users and integrating two prominent TV shows.

SuperScommesse brings to OGM not only its strong brand recognition and local expertise but also a team with a track record of driving consistent growth within the Italian market. The integration of SuperScommesse’s technology and tools is expected to enhance network efficiencies across OGM’s global brands. Conversely, OGM’s advanced technology will further refine SuperScommesse’s offerings and fan engagement, benefiting a dedicated customer base.

This acquisition plays a pivotal role in reinforcing the Confido Network, OGM’s innovative affiliate partnership network launched in November 2023. The Confido Network boasts an extensive range of over 1,000 agreements from more than 200 global operators, marking a significant step forward in OGM’s growth and market influence within the igaming sector.

Stuart Simms, CEO of Oddschecker Media Group, said of the acquisition: “As the growth of sports betting in this sports-mad market continues apace, we wanted to double down on our presence in this key territory. We see SuperScommesse as the ideal strategic complement to our strong Italian footprint.

“We’re looking forward to servicing its customer base with an enhanced product that combines the Oddschecker DNA with its well-regarded brand name and local expertise in a market that still has huge growth potential as it builds out an online, cashless identity.
“This digital tide is only rolling one way, so the synergies are as obvious as they are natural: the Italian market allows for odds comparison as a consumer service, and we remain the pre-eminent odds comparison provider.”
