The Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention and DigitalPlay Summit (DPS) concluded its 2024 event in Anaheim, California, marking its busiest show floor yet. The event saw significant participation from operators and tribal leaders, setting a positive tone for the next gathering in San Diego, California, in 2025, with igaming as a key focus.
The 2024 event attracted over 7,000 industry delegates, surpassing the previous year’s attendance in the same location. Attendees engaged with a wide array of major industry stakeholders.
The introduction of DPS in 2024 provided attendees with insights into developments in igaming and sports betting, expanding the scope of opportunities at the flagship event for Indian gaming.
Prominent providers such as IGT, Everi, Konami, Playtech, Chalkline, Continent 8, and GBank, along with brands like DraftKings and FanDuel, headlined the DPS, contributing to the over 400 booths at the show.
Education was a central focus during the two-day event, featuring the most comprehensive seminar program to date. The seminar sessions included deep dives into online casino and sports betting, and explored the impact of technologies like AI on the growth of tribal government gaming.
The event also introduced the Sustainable Gambling Zone (SGZ), highlighting the industry’s commitment to sharing best practices and innovations in sustainable operations.
Despite recent challenges related to the future of sports betting, the 2024 event was characterized by optimism about the growth potential offered by advanced technology and its implementation in the broader tribal gaming sector. This optimism extends to the future introduction of igaming.
Feedback from exhibitors and attendees emphasized the event’s evolution, showcasing dedicated solutions to pressing issues and current trends in the industry.
The 2025 Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention, scheduled for March 31 to April 3 in San Diego, California, will once again feature the DigitalPlay Summit and SGZ, and is already generating anticipation.
Marcus Yoder, Chief Commercial Officer, Playtech USA, said: “It’s a pivotal time for iGaming and sports betting in the US. The conversations we were able to have at DPS with tribal leaders were critical to building the future.”
Gavin Knapp, Senior Director of Sales and BD at Light & Wonder, said: “iGaming is coming. It’s not a matter of if, but when, which is why the content covered at DPS was critical. Tribal markets are vastly important and are a natural extension to the iGaming ecosystem.”
Ernest Stevens, Jr, Indian Gaming Association Chairman, said: “It’s clear from the vast majority of the conversations held in Anaheim that we’re more aligned than ever on the way forward and the manner in which we’re going to get there together.
“Tribal government gaming leads the industry in its passion and responsibility to build and evolve a sustainable gaming infrastructure – giving back to and supporting local communities and future generations. Our annual event provides the perfect platform for sharing that passion and the insight that drives it. I know that next year’s gathering in San Diego will continue in that same collaborative vein and urge everyone who shares our vision to mark it in their calendar.”
