Industry Investors Support ClearStake in £1.5m Funding Round


ClearStake, a player verification platform focused on the UK igaming sector, has raised £1.5 million in a new funding round backed by a group of senior industry figures. The investment will be used to accelerate the company’s growth and support the rollout of its new product, ID by Bank, which enables operators to verify player identity directly through users’ banking apps.

According to ClearStake, the technology aims to streamline compliance processes, reduce manual reviews, and help operators convert more first-time depositors while minimising fraud risks.

The latest funding round attracted participation from a number of high-profile investors and executives within the igaming and wider digital entertainment sectors, including Michael Brady (Bede Gaming, Conexus), Simon Collins (formerly of Foxy Bingo and Gaming Realms plc), Savvas Fellas (MrQ.com), Will Armitage and Philipp Strizke (BestOdds.com), Max Wright (White Hat Gaming), Ben Clemes (formerly of GiG, now at HappyHour), David Flynn (Glitnor Group), Paddy Power (Flutter), and Sam Swannell (PointsBet).

The raise follows a previous funding round in February 2024, which supported ClearStake’s expansion and partnerships with major operators including tombola, MrQ, and Ivy Casino. The platform has since been used in multiple UK Gambling Commission audits, providing operators with what it describes as transparent and regulator-trusted player data.

ClearStake’s shareholder base also includes a number of experienced gaming executives and investors, such as High Roller CEO Seth Young, former Sportsbet CEO Cormac Barry, former EML CEO Tom Cregan, Adam Perrin (formerly Paddy Power), and Oliver Slipper, co-founder and former CEO of Stats Perform.
