North Star Network has completed the acquisition of French-language basketball media platforms BasketUSA.com and BasketEurope.com, marking a strategic expansion into basketball content and strengthening its footprint in the Francophone sports media market.
BasketUSA.com, founded in 1998, is a prominent source for NBA and international basketball news in France. BasketEurope.com, launched in 2010, focuses on professional basketball within France and across Europe. Both outlets are considered key players in their respective coverage areas.
The editorial teams at both BasketUSA and BasketEurope will continue in their current roles, maintaining editorial independence and ensuring consistency in content quality and tone.
The acquisition aligns with North Star Network’s broader ambition to scale as a global sports media group, leveraging established brands and data-driven growth strategies. DotMarket advised the sellers during the transaction process. While not directly involved in igaming, the deal signals an ongoing trend of media consolidation and brand development in adjacent verticals that may intersect with sports betting in the future.
