BGC Confirms Safer Gambling Week 2026 Dates

Britain’s Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) has confirmed that Safer Gambling Week 2026 will take place from 16–22 November, with the campaign set to continue its focus on promoting safer play across the regulated iGaming and gambling sector.

The initiative, supported by Bacta and Bingo Association, aims to raise awareness of safer gambling tools and encourage engagement among customers, operators and industry stakeholders across iGaming and land-based environments.

The announcement follows Safer Gambling Week 2025, which generated more than 80 million impressions across social media platforms, including X, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, representing a 40 percent increase, compared to the previous year.

The campaign also saw increased engagement from UK policymakers, with cross-party MPs and peers supporting the initiative.

Support for the campaign included contributions from Fiona Twycross, Nigel Huddleston and Louie French, reflecting continued political interest in safer gambling measures within the iGaming sector.

Now in its 10th year, Safer Gambling Week has developed into a coordinated industry campaign designed to highlight tools available to consumers, including deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion mechanisms.

Consumer Protection

The programme is expected to feature activity across digital channels and physical venues, with operators and stakeholders participating in awareness initiatives throughout the week.

Industry bodies have stated that such tools are primarily available within regulated iGaming environments, with the campaign also intended to reinforce the distinction between licensed operators and unregulated offerings that do not provide comparable consumer protections.

Safer Gambling Week has gone from strength-to-strength since launching 10-year-ago, asserts BGC CEO Grainne Hurst

Grainne Hurst, BGC CEO, said: “Safer Gambling Week has gone from strength to strength, with last year’s record-breaking campaign showing just how powerful a united, cross-sector effort can be.

“The strong backing from parliamentarians across all parties reflects the importance of this campaign and the shared ambition to ensure customers are protected and informed.

“By working alongside Bacta and the Bingo Association, we will continue to raise awareness of the tools that help customers stay in control and promote safer play right across the sector.”

The initiative covers the UK and Ireland, and runs in parallel to the separate but related European Safer Gambling Week.
