Black Cow Technology has announced a strategic shift toward becoming a multiplayer game provider, marking a change in direction for the software company as demand grows for multiplayer igaming content across global regulated markets.
The company’s technology is already in use among several operators and suppliers. Its Single Player RGS and Jackpot Server support platforms such as DraftKings and Interblock, while the Multiplayer RGS is utilised by PlayJeux and Light & Wonder. The Multiplayer RGS, which Black Cow states is built on the same technical foundation as its eight-year-established Single Player RGS, is designed as an event-driven system capable of supporting a wide variety of multiplayer formats.
According to the company, the technology can facilitate multiplayer functionality across multiple game types, including slots, table games, crash titles, plinko, lottery, live dealer, bingo and non-gambling formats. Black Cow intends to use this infrastructure to develop its own suite of multiplayer content, which will be offered initially to select operators in regulated markets in North America and Latin America.
The shift will be supported by new senior appointments. Ernie Lafky has joined as Chief Product Officer with responsibility for shaping the company’s forthcoming catalogue and defining how multiplayer, gamification and social features will be integrated. Shelley Hannah has been appointed Chief Operations Officer to support the company’s move toward a product-led structure and oversee operational alignment around multiplayer development.
Black Cow has indicated that it will soon publish a roadmap for its multiplayer content plans, emphasising continuity in the reliability and flexibility associated with its technology over the past 12 years.
Max Francis, Black Cow Founder and CEO, said: “Having empowered operators and suppliers to push boundaries and create truly great content through our Single Player RGS, Jackpot Server and our Multiplayer RGS, making the move into in-house game development was a logical next step.
“We are passionate about multiplayer games and experiences and genuinely believe it’s what players will expect in the future – many actually expect it today.
“Our Multiplayer RGS has been designed to provide multiplayer gameplay across any game, format or event, and this means there’s tremendous scope for what we can do with our own content. And with Ernie and Shelley helping to steer the ship, I’m confident we can do great things.”
