Caesars Entertainment has inaugurated its first property in Nebraska with the grand opening of Harrah’s Columbus NE Racing & Casino. This milestone was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, giveaways, and other festivities involving Caesars, Columbus Exposition and Racing, and the local community.
Guests on opening day received commemorative Harrah’s shirts and participated in the property’s initial slot spins, table game wagers, and sports bets at the Caesars Race & Sportsbook. The first jackpot of $1,876 was hit on Power Push at 10:14 a.m.
The new 17,000-square-foot casino features 400 slot machines, 11 table games, and a Caesars Race & Sportsbook. The sportsbook area, located on the casino floor, spans 2,100 square feet and includes 17 viewing screens, highlighted by a 163-inch video wall. This marks the first time Caesars Sportsbook has accepted sports wagers in Nebraska.
Harrah’s Columbus NE Racing & Casino also includes the award-winning restaurant Brew Brothers, established by the Carano family in 1995, and a bar named Wishbones. A Marriott Fairfield Inn and Townplace Suites is under construction adjacent to the casino and will connect directly to the property upon completion later this year.
In collaboration with Columbus Exposition and Racing, the venue will host a one-mile racetrack, the longest in the state, featuring 15 live races from Aug. 16 to Sept. 15, plus an additional race on Labor Day. The racetrack offers Grandstand seating for all ages and betting for guests 21 and over.
Additionally, Harrah’s Columbus NE Racing & Casino is integrated into Caesars Entertainment’s expansive Caesars Rewards® network. Guests can earn and redeem Reward Credits at over 50 Caesars properties across North America.
“We’re so proud to open the doors to Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino for the first time today,” said Todd Connelly, Regional President of Caesars Entertainment. “Harrah’s is an iconic brand that our guests have come to know and love across the country. We’re so happy to be here with our partners and friends as we celebrate what is sure to be a bright future in Nebraska.”
