Caesars Virginia Sets Dec. 12, 2024, as Official Opening Date

Caesars Virginia has announced that it will open its doors to the public on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, with the first guests welcomed at noon. Details on the opening celebration and related events will be shared closer to the date.

The new Caesars Virginia resort spans 587,000 square feet, featuring more than 90,000 square feet of gaming space with nearly 1,500 slots, 79 live-action table games, 48 electronic table games, a dedicated WSOP™ poker room, and the Caesars Sportsbook. The property also includes a 320-room hotel tower, a 50,000-square-foot multi-use meeting and convention space doubling as a 2,500-seat entertainment venue, and a full-service spa and pool. Dining options will feature Ramsay’s Kitchen by renowned chef Gordon Ramsay and the 500 Block Food Hall, developed by local entrepreneurs Rick Barker and Steve Parry, along with several bars and lounges.

The resort will also be integrated with the Caesars Rewards® program, enabling members to earn and redeem points at over 50 Caesars Entertainment properties across the U.S., including popular destinations like Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Lake Tahoe.

Caesars Virginia is the latest development following the success of Danville Casino, a temporary facility that opened in May 2023. Since its launch, Danville Casino has generated over $66 million in gaming tax contributions for the City of Danville and The Commonwealth of Virginia. Caesars Virginia is owned by Caesars Entertainment in partnership with EBCI Holdings and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

“We have worked diligently on creating a world-class resort that will offer all the luxurious and modern amenities expected from Caesars that will also serve as an economic driver for Danville and the surrounding region through employment and tourism,” said Barron Fuller, Regional President for Caesars Entertainment. “We’re so proud of Caesars Virginia and look forward to welcoming guests on Dec. 12.”

“Our property started out with just over 400 Team Members when the temporary facility opened last year, and we are on track to hire more than 1,200 by the time we open our doors in December,” said Chris Albrecht, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Caesars Virginia. “Through numerous hiring events in the region, training at facilities in Danville and overall support from local and state leaders as well as the business community, we are prepared to continue delivering the Family Style Service that Caesars is known for to our guests in the new, beautiful, destination resort.”

“Our partnership with Caesars Virginia marks a significant milestone in the region’s growth, creating jobs and economic opportunities that will benefit both Danville and surrounding communities,” said Principal Chief Michell Hicks of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. “The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is proud to be a part of this exciting new chapter, as this resort represents an impressive investment in hospitality and entertainment. We look forward to building stronger ties within the region and seeing the positive impact Caesars Virginia will have, providing opportunities and experiences that honor the unique spirit and diversity of this area.”
