Checkd International has reported a strong first NFL season for its SmartPicks betting app, surpassing one million bets placed through the platform by the conclusion of Super Bowl LIX in Louisiana. The milestone highlights the app’s growing traction in the North American igaming market as users increasingly adopt its streamlined betting tools.
Launched in October midway through the NFL season, SmartPicks builds on technology previously deployed in the UK by Checkd Group. Since its launch, the app has recorded over six million page views, averaging more than one million per month. The prop betting tool, which features prominently in the app, has been particularly well-received, with over one million market selections made by users.
SmartPicks has gained significant adoption, with more than 29,000 installs in the past five months. Additionally, SmartPicks Pro, Checkd Group’s first subscription-based product, attracted over 8,000 users throughout the NFL season, demonstrating the demand for premium betting insights.
Developed in-house by Checkd Dev, the technology arm of Checkd Group, SmartPicks adds to the company’s portfolio of betting tools, which includes Paddy Power’s Mix ’N Match bet-building feature. The app’s success has reinforced Checkd International’s presence in the U.S. sports betting market, with the company reporting a 187% increase in app searches in 2024. As it continues to expand, SmartPicks is positioned to further enhance Checkd Group’s footprint in the growing U.S. igaming sector.
Commenting on the success, Callum Broxton, Head of US Operations at Checkd Group said: “We’re delighted to announce that our SmartPicks app has been greatly received in the American sports betting market, with millions of bets placed and thousands of new users choosing the market-leading technology provided this NFL season.
“The launch of SmartPicks Pro has proven successful for the business, and with plenty of positive feedback from users, means we are looking for further ways to tap into revenue subscription models as there is clear demand for this.
“As we enter a key stage of the NBA season and March Madness set to begin, we look forward to developing the app further and making betting even easier across America.”
