Churchill Downs Incorporated has agreed a multi-year extension of its sports betting partnership with Kambi Group plc, continuing its use of the supplier’s Turnkey Sportsbook solution across retail locations in the United States. The renewed agreement covers sportsbook operations at Churchill Downs’ on-site venues and racetracks and maintains the existing technology framework supporting its retail betting activity.
Under the updated terms, Churchill Downs will continue to deploy Kambi’s retail sportsbook technology across 15 locations in eight states. The agreement also includes plans to expand into a ninth state, with a retail sportsbook launch in Maine scheduled for December 2025. The extension reflects an ongoing focus on retail-led sports betting within regulated US igaming and wagering markets.
Kambi’s Turnkey Sportsbook offering provides trading services, betting kiosks and over-the-counter wagering capabilities designed for land-based environments. These systems are used to support sportsbook operations alongside Churchill Downs’ racing venues, which form a central part of the company’s broader entertainment and wagering portfolio.
The partnership extension maintains the long-standing relationship between the igaming and sports betting operator and the technology supplier, as both companies continue to prioritise regulated retail markets in the United States. The agreement positions Churchill Downs to maintain consistency across its sportsbook operations while pursuing measured geographic expansion within the US igaming and sports betting landscape.
Werner Becher, Kambi Group CEO, said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with Churchill Downs Incorporated as we both share the same commitment to delivering high-quality betting and entertainment experiences. CDI’s deep-rooted heritage in horse racing and its growing retail sportsbook footprint makes them an ideal partner for our Turnkey Sportsbook. We look forward to continuing to support their expansion and continued success across the United States.”
Bill Mudd, Churchill Downs Incorporated President & COO, said: “Churchill Downs Incorporated is delighted to continue our successful relationship with Kambi as we aim to expand our retail sports betting operations. Kambi’s proven technology and commitment to excellence align with our mission to deliver exceptional wagering experiences in both sports and horse racing, which remains at the heart of our business.”
