Crucial Compliance, the international gambling compliance, software and support experts, has embarked on a transformative journey to set up its business for even greater success. Following a comprehensive strategic review of its products and operations, the company has charted an ambitious course for the next 3-5 years, including significant enhancements in leadership, strategy, direction and, most importantly, product offerings.
In the Summer of 2023, Crucial welcomed industry titan Simon Bold as Chief Commercial & Client Officer. With over 50 years of experience in both retail and online betting, Simon has quickly honed in on existing and potential client needs, conducting a thorough business review and implementing the company’s first dedicated full-time client management team, working with existing clients and onboarding new clients globally to ensure a seamless touchpoint for all clients across the company’s business by fostering a culture of client delivery.
In Q4 of 2023, the company formed a new operational board, which reports to the newly established executive board (led by CEO and company founder Paul Foster and Director and Legal Counsel Gabrielle O’Hagan).
Under the leadership of Simon Bold, the new operational board has quickly seen pivotal promotions: Dan Davey to Director of Technology and Product, overseeing the development, delivery and modelling of Crucial’s product suite, and Merel Swarts to Director of Business Operations and HR, tasked with implementing strategic operational changes designed to build a client-focused structure throughout the business and fostering the employment journey for the whole Crucial crew.
Simon Bold and Head of Sales, Gareth Hoosen-Owen, have spent valuable time engaging with existing and prospective clients to gather, and analyse with the operational board, important client feedback on Crucial’s product suite. This has led to the transformation of the company’s existing Crucial Player Protection product (CPP) into 3 modular options (each available in different sizes and price points, and each of which can be combined at any time as per client requirements), allowing companies of all sizes and maturity, no matter which markets they are in, to find a tailored Crucial product to meet their needs:
- Crucial 360: Crucial’s comprehensive player protection suite (formerly CPP).
- Crucial RG: a safer gambling suite which uses markers of harm to track player behavioural changes and interacts/communicates with players to minimize gambling-related harm.
- Crucial AML: a stand-alone international anti-money laundering suite, customizable by brand, country, and company, to deliver solutions in respect of global anti-money laundering systems and requirements.
To support smaller companies without the resources for a full integration, Crucial has additionally developed a full SaaS (Software as a Service) product for all 3 products. This SaaS version offers quicker implementation without the need for integration into a client’s systems.
The products were all built to deliver robust customer protection within an easy-to-use case management system, fully integrated into the client’s communication channels and 3rd party flows. They are linked with all new behavioural models developed for markers of harm and anti-money laundering. All 3 products are allowing seamless implementation of models and data.
The introduction of these modular products has already sparked take-up, not least because of the flexibility for clients to adopt and combine modules as and when needed.
With these new products, as well as software enhancements, the creation of new models and its new client-focused structure (all of which the company is justifiably proud of), Crucial holds all the cards for unparalleled success and an industry leading position. The company’s vision is to lead the global Regulatory Technology Industry for Online and Retail Gaming over the next decade, and beyond. With solid foundations, a robust structure, and a dedicated team, the company is setting new standards in international Gambling Compliance, Software and Support.
The future of RegTech is bright, and the future of Crucial Compliance even brighter.
