eCOGRA Continues Global Expansion with Peru Authorisation

eCOGRA are proud to announce their authorisation by the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) to operate as a Certification Laboratory in Peru, offering their full suite of iGaming testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services.

The authorisation comes just two weeks after the company’s announcement of the opening of their Colorado office and appointment of several new senior team members based in the U.S, marking another significant milestone in eCOGRA’s compelling global expansion.

The Peruvian market brings eCOGRA’s total number of global jurisdictions to 38 and the company’s impressive capacity and expertise means that they are well poised to service operators and suppliers within the window specified by the Peruvian regulations. All operating companies that offer online gambling and online sports betting services must submit their application to the MINCETUR virtually by Wednesday March 13, 2024 to be granted the authorisation to operate.

Speaking on the new regulations late last year, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru, Juan Carlos Mathews commented, “This is the first time that this important economic activity is regulated in the country. In South America, Peru becomes the third country to regulate it, after Colombia and Argentina (in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Cordoba, and Mendoza)”

With the latest authorisation, eCOGRA is now operational in all key regulated South American jurisdictions. eCOGRA’s latest jurisdictional approval is a testament to the company’s commitment to regulatory compliance and best practices within the online gambling industry.

Bradley Khoury, Chief Technical Officer of eCOGRA, expressed enthusiasm about the new development, stating, “We are thrilled to receive the green light to offer our services in Peru. This approval not only recognises our unwavering dedication to the highest industry standards but also reinforces our position as a trusted partner in the global online gaming sector. We are committed to working closely with Peruvian operators and software providers to ensure the integrity and fairness of online gambling offerings.”

eCOGRA’s expansion into Peru is part of its broader strategy to collaborate with regulatory bodies worldwide, promoting best practices and safeguarding player interests globally. eCOGRA invites online gaming companies in Peru to engage with its TIC services, as it looks forward to contributing to a safe and vibrant gaming landscape in the country.
