FairPlay Sports Media Debuts Football AI Stats Tool Teammate

FairPlay Sports Media has introduced Teammate, an AI-powered football statistics assistant launched on its WhoScored.com brand. The tool, created in partnership with Google Gemini, is designed to process natural-language queries from fans and bettors, returning relevant betting insights, statistical forecasts, and sporting data through text and visualisations.

The development draws on FairPlay’s 25 years of sports data assets and a recently integrated deep-learning neural engine, positioning Teammate as a resource for football supporters seeking advanced analytics. The assistant is intended to enhance pre-match and in-play decision-making for audiences with an increasing appetite for detailed statistical content.

Google Gemini provides the large language model infrastructure behind the product, adapted specifically for sports-related queries and data interpretation. The interface is being delivered in beta and is designed to integrate as a white-label solution within partner platforms, offering engagement and monetisation opportunities for operators hosting the tool.

FairPlay Sports Media, which operates a global sports media network with a focus on AI and fan engagement, is positioning Teammate as part of its strategy to expand interactive igaming-related content and betting-focused sports tools.

Stuart Simms, group CEO at FairPlay Sports Media, said: “AI has integrated rapidly into our day-to-day lives, but there’s not been a truly bespoke assistant service that suits the needs of sports bettors and data-hungry fans. Teammate, which combines our prowess in delivery of sporting insight, with Google Gemini’s ability to serve users with natural, conversational conveyance of information, offers just that.

“Whether you need betting inspiration, you’re looking to find the best value that backs up a gut betting pick or want to explore betting opportunities around a player’s recent run of form, Teammate will point you in the direction to find the best bets and the most relevant markets, alongside forecasted tips and associated statistics and data.”
