Firesand Launches Shield to Tackle iGaming Account Fraud

Firesand, a cybersecurity firm focused on the igaming industry, has launched a new solution designed to help operators and platform providers mitigate account-based fraud. The new product, Firesand Shield, targets credential-based attacks such as credential stuffing, password exploitation and dictionary attacks, which have become increasingly common across global igaming platforms.

Developed as part of Firesand’s broader suite of security services, Firesand Shield applies a detection methodology built on the company’s experience in penetration testing and ethical hacking. Unlike conventional bot mitigation tools, the product is engineered to detect attack patterns originating from human, automated, or hybrid sources.

The solution aims to protect operators from a range of account compromise attempts without relying on user-facing security prompts such as CAPTCHAs, which are often criticised for degrading the customer experience. Firesand Shield incorporates intelligent prevention capabilities that operate in real time and includes detailed attack reporting to provide greater insight into potential vulnerabilities.

Firesand has confirmed that future updates to the product will include geolocation anomaly detection, VPN usage tracking and AI-driven behavioural analysis. These upgrades are intended to support igaming operators in maintaining platform integrity while meeting regulatory expectations in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
