Flutter Entertainment, a prominent global online sports betting and iGaming operator, has announced the addition of Christine M. McCarthy and Robert R. (“Dob”) Bennett to its Board of Directors, effective July 30, 2024. These appointments bring significant entertainment industry experience to Flutter’s leadership team.
Christine M. McCarthy, who will join the Audit Committee, brings a wealth of experience from her distinguished career at The Walt Disney Company. During her tenure at Disney, she held several senior leadership positions, including Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and later served as a Strategic Advisor. McCarthy has also been a director of The Procter & Gamble Company, where she chairs the Audit Committee, and a director of FM Global, chairing its Finance Committee.
Robert R. Bennett, appointed to the Risk and Sustainability Committee, is the Managing Director of Hilltop Investments, LLC. Bennett has an extensive background in media and entertainment, having served as President of Discovery Holding Company and as President and CEO of Liberty Media Corporation. His previous roles also include senior positions at Tele-Communications, Inc. and The Bank of New York. Bennett currently serves on the boards of HP Inc. and Liberty Media and has previously held directorships at Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc., Sprint Corporation, and other notable companies.
Flutter’s CEO, Peter Jackson, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointments, highlighting the strategic value and extensive experience that McCarthy and Bennett bring to the company. Their addition is expected to bolster Flutter’s governance and strategic initiatives as the company continues to expand its presence in the global iGaming and sports betting markets.
