The Hong Kong Jockey Club has reported contributions of HK$39.1 billion to the community in its financial year ended 30 June 2025, alongside celebrating its 140th anniversary. The figure includes HK$28.8 billion in betting duty and profits tax paid to the HKSAR Government, HK$1.3 billion to the Lotteries Fund, and HK$9.0 billion in approved donations from its Charities Trust.
Total wagering and lottery turnover for the period was up 5% year-on-year at HK$320.3 billion, generating revenue of HK$49.3 billion. EBITDA stood at HK$35.3 billion, representing 72% of revenue. Racing turnover rose 1.8% to HK$138.5 billion, supported by a 10.1% increase in commingling to HK$31.8 billion, which accounted for a quarter of total racing turnover. Football betting turnover increased 7.8% to HK$172.8 billion, while Mark Six lottery turnover grew 5% to HK$9.0 billion.
The year was marked by racing achievements including Voyage Bubble’s Triple Crown win, Romantic Warrior’s international performances and Ka Ying Rising equalling the Hong Kong record for most wins in a season. Attendance at racecourses also increased, with the Club reporting record tourism from Mainland China.
Looking ahead, the Club is preparing for the introduction of regulated basketball betting and the launch of regular racing at Conghua Racecourse in Guangzhou from October 2026, while continuing investment in racing, equine development and community initiatives.

Our champion horses set new records, putting the global spotlight firmly on Hong Kong. Our racecourses attracted record numbers of tourists, contributing to the tourist economy and international connectivity of our city. In addition to a record HK$28.8 billion in betting duty and profits tax contributed to the HKSAR Government, we approved HK$9.0 billion in donations, including HK$1.4 billion to support youth development. With the launch of racing at Conghua in October 2026, we look forward to a new era of world-class sport and entertainment and even more support for the community we serve.”
