Kambi Selected by FDJ Group to Assume OLG’s Multi-Channel Sportsbook Partnership

Kambi Group plc, a leading provider of premium sports betting solutions, has entered into a novation agreement with FDJ Group, under which Kambi will assume FDJ’s contract with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions. This agreement will allow Kambi to replace FDJ as OLG’s long-term sports betting partner.

FDJ, in alignment with its strategic focus on international B2C operations in the lottery, sports betting, and online gaming sectors, has identified Kambi as its preferred partner to take over the existing contract with OLG. The contract, which is set to run until 2032, will be novated to Kambi, pending the completion of the necessary conditions.

As part of the agreement, Kambi will make a material initial investment, which will not be included in the company’s operating expenditure guidance for full-year 2025 due to its non-recurring nature.

OLG is the government agency responsible for managing gaming facilities, provincial lottery games, and online sports betting in Ontario. OLG offers sports betting through its PROLINE brand both online and through approximately 10,000 retail outlets, with all proceeds reinvested into the province. Following the regulation of the market in April 2022, OLG transitioned from being the sole provider of online sports betting to a competitive environment with nearly 50 operators in the market.

Kambi views the combination of OLG’s established position in the local market and the PROLINE brand as an opportunity to strengthen OLG’s market position further, leveraging Kambi’s high-quality sportsbook technology. The novation agreement is expected to be completed by the second half of 2025.

Werner Becher, Kambi Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “The prospect of partnering with an organisation of the size and stature of OLG is an exciting one for Kambi and we are working diligently to complete the novation process with FDJ and launch later this year. Ontario has a competitive online market, but I believe a combination of OLG and Kambi will see PROLINE rightly compete with market leaders while continuing to raise the bar of its retail product.”
