iGaming affiliate and information platform Kongebonus has confirmed the appointment of David Nilsen as Editor-in-Chief, as the Norway-facing site continues to develop its editorial operations and player-focused content offering.
Nilsen takes on the role after several years working within Kongebonus, where he has been involved in shaping the platform’s editorial structure and review methodology. His background includes serving as Senior Casino Writer at the site, alongside previous customer-facing roles at Kindred Group PLC and Betsson Group, providing exposure to operator processes and player support environments.
In addition to his industry experience, Nilsen has undertaken strategic research for Norwegian and international newspapers, with a focus on gambling legislation and regulatory developments. Kongebonus said this combination of regulatory research and practical analysis of game providers and mechanics will inform its approach to producing content aimed at explaining igaming products and regulatory changes to local players.
As Editor-in-Chief, Nilsen will oversee Kongebonus’ editorial strategy, including further development of its manual testing framework for casino and betting reviews. The platform stated that this process is intended to ensure reviews reflect the experience of a Norwegian user accessing and using an operator’s services in real time.
Nilsen is also expected to expand investigative coverage of operators and game providers, with an emphasis on evaluating product performance, transparency, and long-term player conditions. The appointment comes as igaming affiliates in regulated and grey markets continue to place greater emphasis on compliance-aware content and clearer differentiation between marketing material and independent editorial analysis.
