OpenTag Strengthens South Africa Market Offering as Retail Rooted Operators Modernise Online

OpenTag is expanding its South Africa footprint by supporting operators modernising their online operations and accelerating digital growth. The company is working with established online brands, including 10bet, alongside fast-growing operators such as SoccerShop, which is migrating to OpenTag to scale into a more modern iGaming and sports betting stack and deliver an improved experience to its growing online customer base.

South Africa’s opportunity is increasingly defined by operators that can convert offline trust into digital acquisition, retention, and product performance. This shift is driving demand for platforms that reduce operational friction and enable faster iteration.

OpenTag will be in Cape Town for SiGMA Africa (3–5 March 2026) to meet operators and partners and discuss market challenges and opportunities. Meetings are open throughout the event.

OpenTag said its South Africa offering is built around retail to online acceleration and online modernisation, enabling operators to migrate with minimal disruption and then scale with stronger tooling. The platform includes content aggregation, a best-in-class bonus engine, CRM segmentation and lifecycle automation, and an API first integration approach designed to reduce manual workload and speed up delivery cycles.

A key proof point for scaled online execution is 10bet, where OpenTag powers platform capabilities supporting high-volume operations and rapid iteration. OpenTag noted that sustainable online performance is driven less by feature lists and more by execution, fast iteration, clean operations, local optimisation, and a deep partnership approach that keeps operators unblocked from roadmap to release.

On the modernisation side, SoccerShop reflects a broader market movement, operators that are already online but are upgrading their technology to compete at a higher level by improving the gaming experience and building operational scale for long term growth.

“South Africa is an execution market. Operators win by moving fast, staying focused, and running clean operations at scale,” said Rea Maor, General Manager and CTO at OpenTag. “Our focus is to make migrations low-friction and give teams the control to build a stronger online offering without fighting their platform.”

Adam Michael, Business Development Manager at SoccerShop, added: “We have been an active presence in the retail market for over 30 years and have been operating in the online scene for the past 10 years already. However, this migration and partnership with OpenTag starts a new journey of growth by stepping up to a modern platform that can support multiple avenues of growth. The priority is improving the player experience, expanding offerings as well as scaling operations efficiently as our online customer base continues to grow and we believe that there is no better fit than with OpenTag. We are currently in the midst of migrating to OpenTag and the experience so far of dealing with them has been nothing but productive and eye-opening. From working through nights and weekends for us to transfer data, deal with providers and coordinate the website there has been no limit as to how far they will go for us. Dealing with every team member at OpenTag has been a pleasure.”
