PlayAGS Adds Robert Ziems as Chief Legal Officer

PlayAGS, Inc., a major supplier of high-performing slot, table, and interactive products and services to the global gaming industry, has announced that Robert “Rob” Ziems has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Legal Officer, effective immediately. With over 24 years of experience in the gaming and legal industries, Ziems will be responsible for the company’s legal and compliance affairs, as well as oversee the Latin America and Interactive business strategy.

Ziems joins PlayAGS from Aruze Gaming America, where he served for over 12 years in various roles such as President, Global Chief Legal Officer of Aruze Gaming Group, and Corporate Secretary. His responsibilities included leading global legal affairs, regulatory compliance, and global human resources, while also overseeing operating efficiencies, business development, and procurement in the Americas.

Ziems has previously served as in-house counsel for gaming corporations, where he handled legal and regulatory matters worldwide. He began his career in the gaming industry as Associate General Counsel at Station Casino, Inc. and later joined Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. as Associate General Counsel. Ziems holds a law degree from Drake University School of Law, an MBA from Indiana University, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida.

Ziems replaces Victor Gallo, who retired as AGS’ General Counsel after serving since 2010, and will remain as Secretary for the Company.

“Rob is a great addition to our leadership team as we diversify AGS’ portfolio and advance our business strategy,” said David Lopez, AGS President and Chief Executive Officer. “He has deep gaming and regulatory experience combined with a forward-thinking and collaborative leadership approach.”

Lopez added, “Looking back, it is difficult to overstate the extraordinary impact Vic has had on AGS over the past 12 years. He was instrumental in the acquisition and integration of Cadillac Jack, as well as the Company’s IPO in 2018, and he has helped shape the strategy, structure, and culture that have made AGS successful as a Company today. On behalf of the entire leadership team, we wish him a well-deserved retirement.”
