QTech Games Expands Malaga Tech Hub Operations

QTech Games has announced an expansion of its Tech Hub in Malaga, Spain, following a period of strong performance since the facility’s establishment in late 2024. The igaming aggregator is increasing its operational capacity on the Costa del Sol by recruiting for 17 new roles, with the aim of growing its local headcount to over 30.

The company initially set up two core teams in Malaga during the fourth quarter of 2024: a Connect Team focused on supplier integrations and a QT Hybrid Team supporting its retail solution. The latest hiring initiative will include the formation of a new Platform Team, which will concentrate on software development and enhanced service delivery for clients across Europe and Africa.

Roles currently being recruited for include team leads, backend and full-stack developers, frontend specialists, QA personnel, infrastructure and DevOps staff, technical support, design, and HR functions. These hires are expected to strengthen QTech’s ability to scale its igaming platform and improve partner-facing services.

In parallel with its expansion in Spain, QTech Games is also investing in its Malta operations to support continued international growth and further consolidate its presence in key igaming jurisdictions.

QTech Games’ CEO, Philip Doftvik, said: “Towards the end of 2024, we set up the Tech Hub. Its initial aim was to focus on client requests for our QTech Hybrid product, and we’ve really hit the ground running, winning multiple Africa-facing awards for innovation and going live with multiple clients in our pilot scheme rollout. Now, thanks to some fabulous recruitment partners at ESR Talent and our team’s initial gains, I’m pleased to say we’ve been forced into moving offices into a bigger unit, as we crew up from 12 to 30 staff with the addition of this exciting Platform Team!

“It’s an extension of QTech’s ‘plan global, act local’ philosophy, selecting Spain and Malaga as the site for our flourishing tech hub precisely because of its unique place at the intersection of Europe and Africa, alongside its natural linguistic and thematic gateway to LatAm. This Malaga hub has already brought even greater capacity to QTech Games’ tech organisation.”

Doftvik added: “This physical growth strategy enables QTech Games to scale up our tech org more quickly and ensure it remains ahead of any innovative trends or requirements in technology. Malaga and Malta consistently chart among Europe’s most safe and desirable cities in which to live. With the scale-up, we ensure that we are constantly delivering cutting-edge solutions to remain at the forefront of new technology, innovation and product development.”

Helena Scone, ESR Talent’s Director of Gaming & Fintech, commented: “This expansive move underscores QTech’s commitment to staffing its offices with top-tier professionals in key business areas, marking another significant step towards achieving their goal of becoming the emerging-markets leader locally and regionally. And we’re here to help them realise their aims, fostering the most attractive culture and environment along the way.

“At ESR and QTech, we are all about putting people first and finding the talent that wants to walk the extra mile and be part of an exciting growth journey. We’ve already recruited a nearly 20-strong team, and we’re excited by the future possibilities this will bring to our global team.”
