Revolutionising Italian iGaming: OCSI 2023 Takes the Industry by Storm
Online Casino Summit Italia 2023 kept the momentum going on Day Two, offering attendees more exclusive networking opportunities, engaging industry discussions, and a bustling exhibition floor teeming with potential business prospects. The Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora was abuzz with excitement, as leading iGaming operators and providers from around the world gathered to exchange ideas and contact details to forge the partnerships that are sure to shape the future of iGaming in Italy.
Chairperson, Helen Walton (CCO & Founder, g.games) greeted all in attendance and set the tone by reflecting on the successes of the previous day and emphasising the importance of networking and knowledge-sharing for industry growth. The first panel followed, giving attendees an update on the coming regulatory changes for iGaming in Italy. Expert moderator, Giulio Coraggio (Advocate/Partner, DLA Piper), summarised the anticipated changes and called on legal and compliance experts, Stefano Sbordoni (Founder/Partner, Sbordoni Studio Legale) and Michele Butturini (Co-Founder, BM-Value) to discuss how these changes might impact the operators in the coming months.
Led by Dustin Plantholt, the Count of MonteCrypto, the second panel explored the impact of digital assets on iGaming, with local experts Daniele Tagliarini (Advisor, DTC Advisory) and Enrico Giancaterina (MD, Funtech Games) sharing insights on the Italian market and Yanislav Malahov (Founder, æternity) and Prof. Dr Konstantina Papathanasiou (Professor of Economic Criminal Law, Universität Liechtenstein) offering global perspectives. Following the panel, attendees enjoyed refreshments while testing the innovative products showcased by Global Transaction Charge, XR Casino, Run Your Own Poker Site, and Betting Software at the exhibition stands.
Following the break, Edgaras Grabauskas (Head of International Banking, mano.bank), led a panel of expert speakers including Tal Ron (Chairman & CEO, Tal Ron, Drihem & Co.), Vytautas Jonas Lapienis (Co-founder/Board Member, mano.bank), Yanislav Malahov, Moshe Sabia (Chairman & CEO, Luns.io), and Rotem Zacary (Owner, Stratified.io). These industry leaders shared their insider insights on how the global payments ecosystem is evolving in the iGaming industry. The insights kept coming as Dustin Plantholt moderated a discussion on the explosive potential of AI and machine learning in iGaming. Prof. Gabriele Pao-Pei Andreoli (President, Institute of Advance Studies & Cooperation), Firas Safieddine (Founder & Executive Strategist, Spatial Forces), and Prof. Dr Konstantina Papathanasiou told the audience how AI is transforming the game with innovative player experiences and improved platform monitoring.
Attendees enjoyed a special lunch of local cuisine on the stunning rooftop terrace with a view over Rome during the break, providing an excellent setting to network and form new partnerships. Helen Walton then presented the first-afternoon session, discussing the importance of collaboration between the industry and regulators to ensure a safe and enjoyable playing experience for online casino players.
The afternoon sessions continued with a discussion led by Tal Ron, exploring how compliance drives iGaming innovation with Gonzalo Jusid (Partner, Mobile Brain), Simona Jovaišaitė (MLRO and Head of AML Department, mano.bank), Terence Cassar (Partner, GTG), Moshe Sabia (Chairman & CEO, Luns.io), Matan Amoyal (CEO, Boiling Offers), and Eli Desatnik (Co-Founder, Pushub). Alexis Wicén (CEO/Founder, Unibo) gave an acclaimed presentation on using gamification to increase player engagement and loyalty. The day ended with a panel discussion on the future of iGaming moderated by Wicén with experts including Daniele Tagliarini, Terence Cassar and Liam Mulvaney (B2B Specialist), discussing the promising future of iGaming with advancements in payments and technology.
Helen Walton delivered the closing remarks, congratulating the success of the inaugural event. OCSI 2023 brought together C-suite executives with the purpose of connecting, learning, and growing together.
