SIS (Sports Information Services), a premier provider of 24/7 live betting services, has announced the addition of racing content from King Khalid Racecourse in Ta’if to its extensive horse racing portfolio, enhancing the visibility of Saudi Arabian racing.
The 2024 Ta’if season, running from July 4th to September 28th, features races and simulcasts every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Situated 1,800 meters above sea level in the scenic Hijaz Mountains, Ta’if has been a prime location for summer racing in the Middle East since 1965, thanks to its favourable weather and large population.
The season will include 39 race days, featuring 273 Thoroughbred and 78 Purebred Arabian races. The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia (JCSA) has increased the number of handicap races and introduced prep races for all major cups, providing a clear path for horses to advance through the ranks during the Riyadh season. This year, the prize money has seen a 24% increase, with an average of SAR104,378 (approximately US$27,800) per race.
Key races in the season include the Ta’if Arabian Derby on September 6th, and the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Cup (Listed) and King Faisal Cup (Listed) for Purebred Arabians on September 20th.
This extended agreement with the JCSA enhances SIS’s portfolio, which now includes over 36,000 annual horse races, featuring events from both JCSA racetracks in Saudi Arabia. SIS distributes this content to more than 70 countries, highlighted by the US$20M Saudi Cup in February.
This collaboration underscores SIS’s commitment to providing a diverse range of high-quality racing content to its global audience, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience for bettors worldwide.
Michele Fischer, Vice President, SIS Content Services, said: “The quality of racing in Saudi Arabia continues to improve each year and it is great that we are now able to provide our partners with content from King Khalid Racecourse in Ta’if, the only racecourse in the region that races throughout the summer months.
“The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia has worked tirelessly to produce an engaging racing calendar and we are sure the addition of racing from Ta’if will lead to even more interest in Saudia Arabian racing.”
