Smilegate Partners with GRID for Crossfire Esports Match Data Global Distribution

GRID, the esports data and technology platform, today announced a partnership with Smilegate, a global game development and publishing company, to deliver official match data infrastructure and distribution for CROSSFIRE’s esports ecosystem.

GRID will integrate directly with CROSSFIRE to capture and distribute live official match data, supporting commercial growth, fan engagement, and player experiences. The partnership will support Smilegate’s long-term esports strategy by enabling scalable, reliable, integrity-first data access for broadcasters, media partners, community, and commercial use cases.

The deal brings CROSSFIRE into GRID’s growing portfolio of top-tier competitive titles and partnered game publishers, extending the platform’s footprint across Asia-Pacific and LATAM, where the title maintains a strong and active esports presence.

“CROSSFIRE has a massive global player base and an esports audience built over nearly two decades by developers who truly understand their players,” said Charlie Hanley-Nickolls, CPO of GRID. “This partnership reflects the growing recognition of match data as part of the game’s IP—helping evolve esports ecosystems, enabling new activations, improving fan experiences, and unlocking commercial opportunities around the game.”

“GRID’s technology gives us new ways to engage players, enhance entertainment value, and innovate around our IP,” said Kihyoung Cho, SVP of Smilegate. “CROSSFIRE has engaged more than one billion players worldwide, and we see official data distribution as a key part of how we continue to build our community and deliver exceptional experiences.”

Originally released in 2007, CROSSFIRE is one of the most successful first-person shooter franchises in history, with more than one billion lifetime registered players across more than 80 countries. CROSSFIRE Stars, the franchise’s global esports league, has attracted more than one billion viewers and remains an active part of the global competitive gaming calendar, with a strong focus on SEA and LATAM.

Official CROSSFIRE match data will be available via the GRID Data Platform in 2026. For more information, contact data@grid.gg
