Stake Dice is one of the simplest games in the Stake Originals lineup. In it, you predict whether a 100-sided virtual die will land over or under a number you choose, and the closer you cut it, the bigger your multiplier. It offers a 99% RTP, a max win of around 9,900x, and is provably fair so that you can check every roll yourself.

Dice is one of 30-plus Stake Originals, the in-house games Stake builds and makes provably fair. If you've ever wondered whether a game like this is rigged, you don't have to take Stake's word for it: you can check any roll yourself (we cover how below).

Play for real money using crypto, including BTC and DOGE, or choose one of more than 40 fiat currencies. Stake.us provides a free social alternative for people in the US.

The process remains straightforward for anyone looking to learn how to play Dice on Stake.com. You choose a point on the sliding scale where you think the 100-sided virtual die will finish and select over or under. For example, when you think the roll will exceed 18, you move the scale to 18 and select “Roll Over.” A successful result gives you a 1.2073x multiplier.

How to Play Dice on Stake.com

Learning the Stake.com Dice rules doesn’t take long. Here’s what you need to do when starting out:

Step 1: Decide on Your Bet Size

After you load the Stake.com Dice game, choose your bet size for the next round. Stake accepts bets from €0.01 up to €2,000,000.

Step 2: Decide on the Over/Under Target

screenshot of stake dice game settings page

Use the sliding scale to set a target for the dice roll and decide whether it will finish over or under that number. Alternatively, use the three fields below the scale to create your setup.

Type in your preferred multiplier or win chance and lock in that configuration. Toggle the “Roll Over” or “Roll Under” option depending on your preference. We set the target roll above 25, which gave us a 75% win chance and a possible 1.32x multiplier.

Step 3: Place the Bet

Once you feel happy with your setup, check the “Profit on Win” figure to see the return you’ll receive after a successful result. When ready, click “Bet” to roll the die.

The die landed on 39.89 for us, so our >25 bet won and gave us a total return of €0.07 from our €0.05 wager.

Stake.com Dice Features & Mechanics

The Stake Dice game includes several useful features that improve the overall playing experience.

Risk Control

We liked the flexibility of choosing the volatility level because we could select a multiplier as low as 1.0102x for more consistent wins and better long-term balance preservation.

Alternatively, we could pursue higher volatility with multipliers of up to ~9,900x. The game also displays the corresponding win-chance percentage, which adds a useful layer of information.

Auto Mode

The game also allows you to automate a specific number of rounds. That feature meant we could follow the same pattern for 10 consecutive rounds without pressing anything between bets.

The “Advanced” feature allowed us to increase our bets by a chosen percentage according to the result of the previous round. We could also decide on a profit or loss amount that would trigger the end of our session.

Dice Strategy

This game includes a unique Stake Dice strategy feature that allows you to select a predefined system, such as Martingale, Delayed Martingale, Paroli, or D’Alembert.

We could also create our own strategy and add conditions such as when to reset to a base stake and what action to take when profit reaches a certain level. Few games offer this level of customization, so we consider it a major standout feature.

Provably Fair

Stake.com makes Dice provably fair, so we can independently confirm that the gameplay does not operate unfairly. The game uses a cryptographic system based on three inputs.

First, Stake generates the server seed, which takes the form of a random string, before you play. You provide the client seed, or the site generates one for you. This arrangement means that the outcome depends partly on an input you control rather than solely on the casino.

Finally, the nonce works as a counter that increases by one with every bet, so the same two seeds never produce the same result twice in a row.

You can verify a result yourself by clicking “Fairness.” Rotate the server seed to reveal the previous one, hash that revealed seed, and confirm that it matches the hash Stake showed you before you played. Enter all three inputs and recompute the roll to ensure that it matches the result that appeared on screen.

Stake.com Dice RTP, House Edge & Max Win

The Stake Originals Dice RTP is 99%, which gives it a 1% house edge, and the game caps the maximum multiplier at ~9,900x. Stake calculates the RTP across millions of rounds, so the figure does not indicate what will happen during a single session.

Keep in mind that the game carries a negative expected value, or EV, so players should expect to lose over the long run.

Stake.com Dice Payouts

As the table shows, the multiple increases when there is less margin for errors. The payout frequency will be higher when the multiples are relatively low, with the payout size increasing as your winning chance diminishes.

Stake.com Dice Strategy & Tips

Stake.com Dice carries a negative EV, so players should expect to lose over the long run. Nothing you do can change the 1% house edge. However, several tips can help people manage risk and extend their sessions rather than searching for guaranteed ways to win.

  • Choose Your Stake Size Wisely: Avoid using more than 1% of your bankroll as your standard stake size. This approach can help you extend your sessions without quickly running out of funds.
  • Pick Your Win Chance Deliberately: Higher win chances of 90% or more produce frequent small wins. Lower win-chance options produce less frequent but larger multipliers. The trade-off comes from the fact that one loss can erase many wins when you use a high win-chance approach, while long losing streaks remain normal when you select low win percentages.
  • Set a Hard Stop-Loss: Decide in advance when you will stop playing. Choose a specific profit or loss amount that will trigger your decision to log off. This approach can help you walk away with funds remaining, although you also accept the possibility of stopping before the variance turns in your favor.
  • Use Auto-Bet for Discipline: Auto-bet can help you avoid emotional betting and implement specific strategies consistently. However, automated betting can feel repetitive and predictable.
  • Decide on a Session Time Length: You might enter a session with a win or loss target in mind, but reaching that number can sometimes take a long time. For that reason, you should also set a clear time limit for the length of your session.

  • Choose bets ranging from €0.01 to €2,000,000

The Stake Plinko game allows you to adjust risk in two ways. Choose between eight and 16 rows and select from four different difficulty levels.

Watching the ball bounce down the triangular pinboard adds excitement, while the 100,000x maximum win creates major payout potential.

Chicken

The Stake Chicken game ranks among the more unusual Stake Originals because it tasks players with helping a chicken cross the road.

The game offers 16 positions and four difficulty levels, allowing the multipliers to climb significantly. It provides a respectable 98% RTP and a maximum multiplier of 181,060.88x your wager.

Aviator

The Stake Aviator game, which Spribe created, ranks among the most popular games on the platform. It became an early trailblazer in the space when Spribe released it in 2019.

The game features strong graphics, and the social element of seeing what other players bet adds to the overall experience.

New to Stake? Don’t get confused when comparing Stake.com vs. Stake.us. The latter is a free-to-play social casino available in the US, not offering any real-money gambling.
