Brightstar Lottery Scores 56 in S&P Sustainability Review

Brightstar Lottery has received its first score in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment as a pure play lottery company, achieving an overall rating of 56 in the 2025 evaluation. The company said the result places it significantly above the industry average score of 31 within the assessment framework.

The rating was issued on 5 January 2026 as part of the annual S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, which measures corporate sustainability performance across economic, environmental and social criteria. Companies participating in the assessment receive scores ranging from zero to 100 based on approximately 20 sustainability indicators considered financially relevant within their sector.

In addition to receiving its first score under the assessment as a dedicated lottery operator, Brightstar Lottery has also been included in the latest S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook. The publication highlights companies that demonstrate comparatively strong performance within the Corporate Sustainability Assessment across multiple industries.

The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment has been used since 1999 as the foundation for several global sustainability benchmarks developed in collaboration with S&P Dow Jones Indices. The methodology evaluates organisations across 61 industry categories using a best-in-class approach that assesses companies relative to peers rather than excluding sectors from the analysis.

Brightstar Lottery operates within the lottery and gaming segment of the broader igaming and gaming ecosystem. Companies in this sector increasingly participate in environmental, social and governance reporting frameworks as investors and regulators place greater emphasis on sustainability performance.

Through its participation in the assessment, Brightstar Lottery becomes one of the companies in the gaming and igaming sector evaluated against the CSA’s global sustainability benchmarks. The score of 56 reflects the company’s performance across the economic, environmental and social indicators measured within the assessment methodology.

“Brightstar Lottery’s achievement of receiving an S&P Global CSA score of 56 for the first time as a pure play lottery company showcases our continuous commitment to leading the lottery industry in global sustainability,” said Wendy Montgomery, Brightstar SVP, Branding, Communications and Sustainability. “We ensure sustainable practices are woven into the fabric of our corporate identity through strategic sustainability efforts focused on our most important stakeholders. We are proud to be included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for 2026 and will continue our efforts to build a sustainable future for our people and the planet.”
