Caesars Entertainment has officially opened the doors to its highly anticipated resort, Caesars Virginia, with a grand opening ceremony held earlier today. The event was led by several key figures, including Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, President & COO Anthony Carano, Regional President Barron Fuller, General Manager Chris Albrecht, and Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Chief Michell Hicks. The ceremony was attended by Danville Mayor Alonzo Jones, Virginia Lottery Executive Director Khalid Jones, Senator Tammy Mulchi, Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade Maggie Beal, and hundreds of community members.
The morning festivities kicked off with a parade featuring race cars and supercars from Virginia International Raceway, Kaizen Autosport, and Foreign Cars Italia. The parade was led by five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman, who also served as the master of ceremonies. Rodman, along with Caesars and local dignitaries, participated in the parade, which culminated at the resort for the official ribbon-cutting. Following the ceremony, guests were invited inside the 587,000-square-foot resort, where Rodman placed the first ceremonial bet at the Caesars Sportsbook, betting on a five-leg parlay involving teams from his NBA career.
Caesars Virginia features 90,000 square feet of gaming space, with nearly 1,500 slot machines, 79 live-action table games, 48 electronic table games, and a World Series of Poker (WSOP™) poker room. The resort also includes a 320-room hotel tower, 50,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, and a 2,500-seat live entertainment venue. For dining options, the resort offers Ramsay’s Kitchen by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, Dan Dan Noodle, Three Stacks, and the 500 Block Food Hall, developed by local entrepreneurs Rick Barker and Steve Parry.
