Caesars Entertainment, Inc., a prominent casino-entertainment company in the U.S., has released its 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility report, showcasing the company’s advancements in environmental impact, diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, Team Member development, community investment, and more.
The report outlines progress in four key areas for the year 2023:
Environmental Impact: Building upon its achievement of emission reduction goals ahead of schedule in 2022, the company has set a new greenhouse gas reduction target of 46.2% by 2030, based on a 2019 baseline. Moreover, Caesars has implemented various initiatives in 2023 to enhance the carbon profile and environmental footprint of CAESARS FORUM, its 600,000-square-foot convention center in Las Vegas. These initiatives include a green cleaning program, monitoring-based commissioning for optimal mechanical system performance, and a composting program. These efforts led CAESARS FORUM to attain Gold-level certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standard.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: In 2023, Caesars hosted its inaugural enterprise-wide Business Impact Group (BIG) summit, bringing together leaders from across the nation for a two-day workshop in Las Vegas. The summit aimed to assess each BIG’s role within the company, exchange insights and best practices, and devise forward-looking strategies for each group. It also served as a platform for professional development, benefiting the attending leaders.
Community Investment: The Caesars Makes Change program, initially piloted at one property in 2021, has expanded to nearly 40 Caesars Entertainment destinations nationwide by 2023. Guests now have the option to donate a portion of their slot cash-out tickets to charitable organizations. In 2023 alone, this initiative contributed over $1.25 million to the Company’s partner organizations, Meals on Wheels America and Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Team Member Support: In 2023, Caesars introduced a quarterly publication named “Leading the Empire” for all salaried Team Members, aimed at fostering self-development and professional growth. This leadership development tool provides valuable insights into the company’s leadership framework, comprising five pillars, along with links to additional learning resources. By the end of 2023, Company leaders had completed over 3,100 learning programs through “Leading the Empire,” investing more than 2,300 hours in their self-development.
“At Caesars Entertainment, we’re committed to continuing to develop, diversify and achieve our CSR goals,” said Heather Rapp, SVP of Corporate Social Responsibility for Caesars Entertainment. “We’ve been in a period of progress as we met and exceeded our interim emission reduction goals three years ahead of schedule, and because of that work, we were able to implement new, more ambitious goals this year. Our success in our environmental impact category motivates us to keep growing and achieving in our CSR efforts across the board. We look forward to continuing to grow and make a difference in the communities where we live, work and play.”
