Continent 8 Technologies Expands to North Carolina Ahead of Legal Online Sports Betting Launch

Continuing its expansion in the North American market, Continent 8 Technologies, a renowned global provider of managed hosting, connectivity, cloud, and security services, has successfully launched its operations in North Carolina. This strategic move coincides with North Carolina’s upcoming foray into legal online sports betting, scheduled to begin in early 2024.

In June, Governor Roy Cooper signed House Bill 347 into law, granting approval to up to 12 sportsbook operators to offer online and mobile betting services to players in the state, in addition to the three existing land-based tribal sportsbooks permitted under current legislation.

The potential of the North Carolina market is substantial, with projections indicating residents could wager around $6.8 bn within the first two years, generating approximately $100 million in revenue for the state within five years.

With a proactive first-to-market approach in North America, Continent 8 has already established its presence in 27 states and continues to expand. This ensures that its clients can seamlessly launch their operations from day one, having sufficient time to set up their infrastructure and ensure compliance.

Through this recent expansion, operators in North Carolina gain access to Continent 8’s comprehensive suite of solutions, providing them with the necessary tools to operate efficiently and securely. Furthermore, Continent 8 offers two dedicated sites within the state, guaranteeing robust and reliable services to its customers.

As the iGaming landscape continues to evolve in the United States, Continent 8 Technologies remains committed to supporting operators across the country, facilitating their entry into new markets while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and compliance.

Justin Cosnett, Chief Product Officer at Continent 8 Technologies, said: “We have been aggressive with our first-to-market approach in the US because it’s vital that operators can access the infrastructure solutions they need ahead of markets opening so that they are good to go from day one. What’s more, where possible we have invested in multiple sites in each state, such as North Carolina, enabling customers to utilize our backup and disaster recovery services.

Nick Nally, Chief Revenue Officer at Continent 8 Technologies, added: “Our regulatory knowledge and experience are unrivalled, and this is key to deploying our first-to-market approach in the US. This was certainly the case in North Carolina where we have been able to keep pace with legislative progress at all times.

“North Carolina will be a significant online sports betting market and is one that we know our customers have set their sights on. We can now offer our suite of iGaming hosting, connectivity, cloud and security solutions to these operators who can be confident they are fully compliant with the requirements set by the regulator.”
