Paf Employees Donate €125,000 to Support Global Causes

Paf, the Nordic gaming company, has announced that its employees have collectively chosen to donate €125,000 to a range of social, environmental, and humanitarian causes. This marks the second consecutive year that Paf has given its employees the opportunity to nominate and vote on which initiatives would receive the donation, reflecting the company’s commitment to using its profits for societal benefit.

The process began with employees nominating causes they felt were deserving of support. After the nominations, employees voted on the initiatives, determining the distribution of the €125,000 donation. The causes chosen for support covered various areas including health, children’s welfare, and international aid.

The largest portion of the donation, €40,000, went to causes related to Ukraine, followed by €25,000 for cancer-related causes and €15,000 for initiatives addressing child abuse. Other causes that received significant donations included those supporting children’s rights, animals, and medical aid for Palestine.

Here is the breakdown of the donation distribution:

  • €40,000 – Causes for Ukraine, including organizations such as Power Up Ukraine and Hospitallers, which provide essential aid and support for those affected by the ongoing crisis.
  • €25,000 – Causes against cancer, supporting groups like Barncancerfonden in Sweden and Kingitud Elu in Estonia, which are dedicated to pediatric cancer research and supporting affected families.
  • €15,000 – Causes focused on combating child abuse, supporting initiatives such as the Internet Watch Foundation and ECPAT, which work to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation globally.
  • €12,000 – Causes for children, addressing various needs including education and health.
  • €9,000 – Causes for animals, providing support to various animal welfare organizations.
  • €7,000 – The Swedish Brain Foundation (Hjärnfonden), focusing on brain research and disease.
  • €6,000 – Medical aid for Palestine, helping provide healthcare and humanitarian assistance in the region.
  • €5,000 – Causes for women, supporting women’s rights and welfare initiatives.
  • €3,500 – Relief efforts for the Spanish weather disaster, aiding recovery from natural disasters.
  • €2,500 – Jesuit Refugee Services Malta, providing support to refugees and displaced persons.
  • The survey and voting process excluded organizations already benefiting from Paf’s regular funding. Since 1966, Paf has distributed more than €447 million in funds aimed at supporting societal causes. In the spring of 2024, Paf is set to distribute an additional €31.4 million in Paf funds to benefit communities worldwide.

“It’s really important that everyone who works at Paf feels that our core mission is different and that it’s well worth working for. That’s why we wanted to involve the employees and give everyone a direct opportunity to determine the distribution of the donation,” says Paf’s CEO Christer Fahlstedt.

“It was a great way to end last year and a good initiative to repeat this year. The donation is not part of Paf’s usual mission and purpose, but it reflects our overall core purpose in an excellent way,’ says Paf CEO Christer Fahlstedt.
