Parimatch Foundation Allocated Over Half a Million Euros to Aid Ukraine During War

As the third month of war raging in Ukraine continues, Parimatch Foundation reports about 600+ successfully evacuated people, the arrangement of 4,000+ sleeping places for internally displaced persons, and the launch of several humanitarian projects.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Parimatch Foundation – previously focused on educational and sports projects for children – has re-allocated most of its resources toward helping Ukrainian women and children survive the war and get to safety. To ensure the effectiveness of this decision, a few aid branches were created within: humanitarian aid and medical needs, financial aid and fundraising, establishing new partnerships to raise funds, and sustaining the necessary projects of the Foundation.

Financial aid: Parimatch Foundation allocated its financial resources toward  purchasing and delivering the medicines and food for those in need, as well as evacuating people from the hot spots across Ukraine. Moreover, the Foundation works 24/7 to establish connections with international foundations and humanitarian organisations and attract donations for Ukraine.

• For UAH 2,5 million (nearly €80,000), two cutting-edge ventilators were purchased and installed in Okhmatdyt hospital in Kyiv, which was fired at a couple of times over the last month.

• UAH 4,3 million (€135,000) were allocated to create and sustain hubs in the western Ukraine for the internally displaced persons.

• UAH 1,1 million (€35,000) was allocated toward financial support for Ukrainian athletes with disabilities.

• UAH 150,000 (€4,800) were allocated to arrange evacuation from the hot spots.

• UAH 200,000 (€6,000) were directed toward the logistics of the humanitarian help.

• €20,000 were allocated toward purchasing and delivering hygiene sets from Cyprus to Ukraine.

• Around 40 tons of humanitarian aid — food, medicine, clothes — were delivered to Kyiv, Chernihiv and other regions that suffered from Russian occupation in the first two months of the war.

Overall, Parimatch Foundation has spent over €510,000 since February 24th to support people impacted by the war.

More than €190,000 of them were used to purchase humanitarian aid.

Humanitarian aid:

From the very beginning of the war, helping the civilians, especially children and their mothers, became the №1 priority of the Parimatch Foundation. By the request from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Parimatch Foundation and Parimatch Tech focused the efforts on helping the hubs for internally displaced persons in the western part of Ukraine with the arrangement of sleeping places. The plan to accommodate 5,000 sleeping places is almost completed, with 4,000 of them operating already.

Moreover, over the first month of war, Parimatch Tech and Parimatch Foundation have evacuated people from the hot spots around Ukraine, including the cities of Irpin, Bucha, Kharkiv, Hostomel, Vorzel, where heavy shelling and heated battles with the invaders took place. Over 600 women and children are safe now. In the near future, Parimatch Foundation expects to arrange the constant cooperation with psychologists and legal experts in the safe hubs to work with them.

Partnerships:

The Foundation has also arranged a massive collaboration with the UK and other European charity organisations. Over the last month, the British partners have sent multiple shipments of provisions, medicine, and humanitarian help to Ukraine. Together with a British charity organisation WeHelpUkrainians (formerly Mangalakara Foundation) and a renowned Dr. Owase Jeelani,  Parimatch Foundation has launched the Ukraine Hospitals Appeal initiative. The charities aim to raise €1,000,000 to help save the children wounded by the war, as well as create a cloud-based platform for experience exchange between Ukrainian and British surgeons, and purchase necessary medical supplies for the Children’s Hospital in Lviv. The initiative has currently raised over €30,000. Parimatch Foundation has also arranged the delivery of 10 medical equipment shipments and numerous supplies for the hospital. Parimatch Foundation also works with Hope For Children non-profit organisation to create a comprehensive guide for people arriving in Cyprus. During these months, over 100 people and refugees from Ukraine to Cyprus were supported and provided with food supplies.

In addition to providing humanitarian aid to families from Ukraine, Parimatch Foundation continues to involve Ukrainian children who were forced to leave their homes in sports. Foundation’s friends and partners of AEL, Peace Players, and other Cyprus sports clubs joined this initiative and provided their sports facilities for the children for free. The Foundation has also launched a Sports Mentor programme in Limassol, Cyprus, where Ukrainian children will be invited to take lessons.

Foundation projects:

Although most of the efforts were aimed at helping Ukraine, some critically important projects of the Parimatch Foundation are still underway. The most crucial of them is the stipend program for over 30 Ukrainian athletes with disabilities, aged between 11 and 17. This is a part of the joint program with the National Sports Committee for the Disabled of Ukraine, which has been supporting children with disabilities, who are doing sports professionally and aims to participate in Paralympics, with the stipends.

As for the future, Parimatch Foundation plans to focus on helping internally displaced persons, mainly children. The Foundation plans to continue evacuation of women and kids from the hot spots. Moreover, War Trauma — a programme of psychological support for children with PTSD and their parents — will be launched shortly. Aside from top Ukrainian experts and psychologists, Israel Trauma Coalition will join the initiative as the course experts.

One of the main goals for the upcoming month is to attract as much attention and donations from across the world as possible. Parimatch Foundation has launched an international donation campaign on the website, parimatch.foundation, to make it possible for anyone to join the efforts and save Ukraine. All the funds will be directed toward purchasing product and hygienic sets for internally displaced persons in the West of Ukraine.
