Flutter Entertainment has confirmed it has secured all required regulatory, gaming and antitrust approvals to proceed with its acquisition of Italian omnichannel operator Snai.
The development paves the way for Irish-origin iGaming giant Flutter to finalise the transaction, first announced earlier this year, by the end of this month April.
The move supports Flutter’s broader strategy to invest in leadership positions across key regulated iGaming markets.
With Snai’s strong presence in Italy’s sports betting and gaming landscape, the acquisition is set to significantly enhance Flutter’s scale in the country, which remains Europe’s largest regulated market by gross gaming revenue.
Under the terms of the deal, Flutter will acquire Snai from a subsidiary of Playtech plc for a total cash consideration based on an enterprise value of €2.3 billion (£1.98bn/US$2.61bn).
The integration will see Flutter add one of Italy’s most recognised betting brands to its portfolio, enabling the group to combine Snai’s local market expertise with Flutter’s global technology and product capabilities.
Flutter is expected to provide a further update on the acquisition, and its ongoing international strategy, during its Q1 2025 results announcement scheduled for May 7.
