Svenska Spel CEO Patrik Hofbauer Steps Down for Telia Company Role

Patrik Hofbauer, who has been at the helm of Svenska Spel for nearly five years, recently communicated his decision to step down from his role as president and CEO. His departure from Svenska Spel is slated for January 31, 2024, and he will assume the position of president and CEO at Telia Company from February 1, 2024.

Erik Strand, chairman of the board at Svenska Spel, remarked on Hofbauer’s tenure, noting the instrumental role he played during significant company transformations. Under Hofbauer’s leadership, Svenska Spel navigated the 2019 re-regulation of the igaming market. He, in collaboration with the board and his team, also established a clear future direction for the company. Strand acknowledged Hofbauer’s contributions and expressed gratitude on behalf of the board.

Sharing his thoughts, Patrik Hofbauer stated that leading Svenska Spel had been a rewarding experience, emphasizing the collaborative efforts with customers, partners, and the workforce. In light of Hofbauer’s impending departure, Svenska Spel’s board has initiated the search for a new president and CEO.
