Top Rankin’: #EmbraceEquity, iGaming Unites To Empower And Drive International Women’s Day

As the world unites to celebrate and support International Women’s Day, the iGaming industry has stepped up to the liberation diamond with a number of key proactive, pro-equality campaigns that will empower 2023.

First up, the gaming-centric All-in Diversity Project, in partnership with Square in the Air, has launched an uber-positive #EmbraceEquity drive that has already garnered the support and backing of over 50 organisations, among them BetMGM, Betsson, Entertain and PokerStars, under the additional #GamingAsOne hashtag.

And Godolphin Racing and the British Horseracing Authority adds its own unique #AllintheRace hashtag to the multiple campaigns for women’s equity and empowerment.

“Last year, our International Women’s Day video campaign with Square in the Air sought to highlight the sometimes shocking personal experiences of women working in the betting and gaming sectors,” explained Tina Thakor-Rankin, Co-founder of the All-in Diversity Project.

“[This year] it’s time for celebration and an opportunity to emphasise the amazing achievements of women in our industry. We want to highlight their contribution to gaming and celebrate their stories.”

Other leading betting entities and heavy-hitters, such as Super Affiliate Better Collective, Clarion, the Malta Gaming Authority and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, are also top markers for this year’s International Women’s Day, celebrated today, March 8..

Embrace Equity

Continued Thakor-Rankin: “This campaign uses those feats to illustrate that not only does this industry seek to fully ‘embrace equity’, but that our different experiences make us stronger.”

Added Ellen Kirby, Creative Director at Square in the Air: “Under the #GamingAsOne and #AllintheRace hashtags, it’s heartening to see the biggest betting, gaming and racing organisations in the world unite to celebrate our strength in diversity.

“We’ve been amazed at some of the incredible achievements that women worldwide have shared as part of this campaign, but more than anything it serves as a reminder that each of us has our story, our own experiences and a unique set of strengths to celebrate.”

Meantime, in iGaming central, in the Mediterranean island nation of Malta, the progressive online Betsson Group has announced the launch of the first Diversity and Inclusion Network (D&I).

Principal aim of the D&I, said the Swedish origin group, is to promote an inclusive and diverse workplace culture in Malta, unofficial capital of the iGaming industry, and beyond – by providing a platform for dialogue and discussion on diversity, inclusion and belonging.

The D&I launch event is scheduled for March 22, Lena Nordin, Betsson’s Chief Human Resources Officer, told iGamingFuture.

“We believe that diversity drives innovation and success,” said Nordin.

“And we are excited to launch the first D&I Network in Malta, where we can connect with others who share similar values and work together to create a more inclusive and diverse workplace culture that benefits all.”

Betsson has invited all individuals and organisations interested in promoting diversity and inclusion to join the network and participate in this important initiative, regardless of industry or organisational size.

Registration for the event is free and open now. To register, visit https://www.onebetsson.com/diversity-networking-event/
