Wisconsin Lottery Selects Brightstar Lottery for OMNIA Rollout

The Wisconsin Lottery has selected Brightstar Lottery PLC to provide a new integrated technology platform as part of a long-term contract aimed at modernising its retail and digital operations, extending Brightstar’s footprint across the regulated lottery and adjacent igaming ecosystem in the United States.

Under the agreement, Brightstar’s subsidiary, Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation, will deploy its OMNIA platform following a competitive procurement process. The contract has an initial eight-year term, with provisions for an additional eight-year extension and up to four further one-year extensions. While the Wisconsin Lottery operates within a lottery framework rather than full-scale igaming, the project reflects continued convergence between traditional lottery systems and digital igaming-style infrastructure.

The OMNIA platform is designed to connect retail and digital channels through a single integrated system, supporting operational management, sales processing and player engagement across touchpoints. As part of the rollout, Brightstar will also upgrade the Wisconsin Lottery’s mobile application, expanding functionality for players and retailers and aligning the lottery’s digital offering more closely with expectations shaped by the broader igaming market.

In addition to core systems, Brightstar will supply new retailer hardware, including the Retailer Pro S2 terminal and the GameFlex 48 self-service vending machine. These will be complemented by existing self-service solutions such as the GameTouch 20, GameTouch Draw S2 and the handheld Retailer to Go terminal. The supplier said these technologies are intended to support flexibility and operational efficiency, leveraging the same central system architecture used across other lottery and igaming-adjacent deployments.

Brightstar currently provides technology and services to close to 90 lottery customers across six continents. In the United States, it acts as the primary technology provider for 26 of the country’s 46 lottery jurisdictions, while globally it supplies eight of the world’s 10 largest lotteries. The Wisconsin Lottery agreement further strengthens Brightstar’s position in regulated markets that increasingly draw on igaming technologies to support digital transformation and player engagement.

“The Wisconsin Lottery looks forward to working with Brightstar to help us continuously evolve our lottery solutions to maximize player engagement with this new contract,” said Cindy Polzin, Wisconsin Lottery Director.

“Working in collaboration with the Wisconsin Lottery, Brightstar has developed a deep understanding of the growth-driving products and solutions the Lottery needs to fuel and support its business goals,” said Scott Gunn, Brightstar Chief Operating Officer North America Lottery. “Since our partnership began in 1988, we have supported the Wisconsin Lottery in generating more than $20 billion in revenue, the majority of which has gone back to winners, retailers and Wisconsin homeowners. We are excited to deliver our latest technology solutions, backed by our high-performing and reliable system, that will continue to responsibly propel lottery sales and entertain players.”
