Yggdrasil Secures Swedish Supplier License for Continued iGaming Presence

Yggdrasil, a prominent publisher driving iGaming innovation, has successfully obtained a supplier license in Sweden, ensuring the company’s continued provision of services in the market.

As of July 1st, holding a gaming software license is a compulsory requirement in the Nordic country due to new regulations. The Swedish regulator began accepting applications on March 1st, and Yggdrasil was among the first companies to be granted a license on March 22nd.

This permit allows Yggdrasil to maintain legal operations, offering its portfolio of games to licensed operators in Sweden. As a key market for the company, Sweden has been an important area where Yggdrasil has established a robust presence and heritage in the iGaming industry.

Petter Envall, General Counsel and Chief Legal & Compliance Officer at Yggdrasil commented, “Remaining compliant in all jurisdictions in which we operate is critical to us and has always been a key priority for Yggdrasil.

“Sweden is one of our core markets, and the team was fully focused on submitting our application for the new permit as soon as the application process opened. Yggdrasil has a clear regulatory strategy focus and we maintain very close relationships with our locally regulated operators. Yggdrasil encourages other vendors to apply for this licence and I would like to give praise to the Swedish Gambling Authority for a very simple and straightforward process for administrating these permits.”
