DraftKings Expands Responsible Gaming Efforts with Renewed State Council Funding


DraftKings Inc. (Nasdaq: DKNG) has reaffirmed its commitment to responsible gaming with an expanded set of initiatives during Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM). The company has renewed its State Council Funding Program to continue supporting nationwide responsible gaming resources, marked the one-year anniversary of its My Stat Sheet tool, and launched a national advertising campaign to promote responsible play.

Through the renewal of its State Council Funding Program, originally launched in 2022, DraftKings will distribute over $500,000 to 34 U.S. state problem gambling councils, including those in jurisdictions where it does not operate. To date, the program has provided over $2 million in funding to affiliates of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) to support educational campaigns, training programs, and outreach efforts. Funding has contributed to various initiatives, such as enhancing helpline capabilities in California, upgrading treatment facilities in Louisiana, expanding outreach in Maryland, and strengthening resources for individuals and families in North Carolina.

DraftKings’ My Stat Sheet tool, launched in 2024, has also demonstrated a strong impact on responsible gaming engagement. The feature offers players personalized insights into their gaming behavior, with nearly half of all DraftKings users having visited My Stat Sheet since its launch, totaling 13 million unique visits. The tool provides an in-depth view of time spent on the platform, deposits, withdrawals, contest participation, and net wins or losses, allowing players to make informed decisions about their gaming activity. Recent updates to the tool have introduced a refreshed interface with enhanced breakdowns by product category, as well as additional insights into deposits and withdrawals.

As part of its broader responsible gaming efforts, DraftKings has also launched a national advertising campaign backed by a $10 million investment. Developed with branding support from the NFL and NBA, the campaign promotes responsible play by emphasizing the importance of setting limits and making informed choices. The ad, airing ahead of the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, is expected to reach a broad audience and reinforce responsible gaming messaging.

DraftKings continues to offer a comprehensive suite of responsible gaming tools, including deposit and wager limits, alerts and reminders, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion options. These initiatives reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to responsible gaming education and player protection, reinforcing its efforts to promote safer gaming practices across its platforms.
