DraftKings Launches Predictions App for Regulated Event Markets

DraftKings has launched DraftKings Predictions, a new standalone mobile and web application that allows eligible users to trade event contracts linked to real-world outcomes. The product marks DraftKings’ entry into regulated prediction markets under the oversight of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and expands the company’s portfolio beyond its existing sportsbook and igaming offerings.

DraftKings Predictions is operated by a wholly owned subsidiary that is registered with the CFTC as an Introducing Broker and is a member of the National Futures Association. Through the platform, users can buy and sell event contracts across a range of categories, with sports and financial markets available at launch and additional areas, including entertainment and cultural events, expected to be added over time. The application applies technology already used across DraftKings’ broader igaming ecosystem, adapted for event-based trading rather than traditional wagering.

The platform will connect to multiple exchanges, starting with CME Group, to provide access to markets covering global financial benchmarks, economic indicators and sports outcomes. DraftKings has also outlined plans to integrate technology from Railbird Technologies and its subsidiary Railbird Exchange, following a recent acquisition, with the aim of expanding available markets and supporting future product development.

The launch of DraftKings Predictions highlights continued convergence between igaming, sports-related products and regulated financial market infrastructure in the United States, as operators explore adjacent formats that operate under different regulatory regimes while targeting overlapping consumer audiences.

“DraftKings Predictions is a significant milestone and reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering products that tap into the passion of our customers,” said Corey Gottlieb, Chief Product Officer of DraftKings. “We will create an unparalleled customer experience, leveraging key strategic relationships like ESPN and NBCUniversal to provide an authentic, real-time product that moves at the speed of sports. Along with our operational footprint, marketing and analytics infrastructure and advanced in-house technology, we believe we are uniquely positioned to lead this space over the long term.”
