Entain Advances Grassroots Sports and Community Initiatives

Entain, a company in the sports betting and gaming sector, has supported over 200 athletes aiming for the Olympics, Paralympics, Commonwealth, and World Championships through its partnership with SportsAid. Additionally, it has provided financial assistance to 100 non-league football clubs through its Pitching In program. This information is part of Entain’s Social Impact Report, which outlines the work of the Entain Foundation, the company’s charitable arm. The report accompanies the company’s sustainability strategy and the launch of Entain Sustain, an event focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues.

Entain’s sustainability efforts are structured around four areas: enhancing player protection, maintaining a secure and trusted platform, creating a positive work environment, and impacting communities positively. Highlights from the Social Impact Report include the submission of 14 papers on safer gambling by the Cambridge Health Alliance Division on Addiction and training provided to over 24,920 student-athletes and staff in the US on gambling-related risks. The ARC™ program conducted 1 million customer interactions and interventions in the period from January to October 2023.

In technology and education, Entain supported 10,680 girls and non-binary individuals through Girls Who Code clubs and offered 13 scholarships in 2022 for female students in Germany and Australia. The company also shipped 800 computers to Kenya in partnership with the Turing Trust.

Community support initiatives by Entain included screening 5,000 Ghanaian children for disabilities and learning delays, fundraising half a million pounds for Prostate Cancer UK, and raising £1 million for Chance for the Children to fund research and treatment.

Virginia McDowell, Non-Executive Director and Chair of Entain’s Sustainability and Compliance Committee commented: “I’m extremely proud of the long-term collaborations Entain has built with charities and academic institutions across the globe, supporting them to achieve our common goals and positively transform our local communities. We’ve made brilliant progress this year and look forward to continuing our leadership in this important area, guided by our latest sustainability strategy.”
