First Online Series Announced for PokerStars Players in Michigan and New Jersey Shared Player Pool

PokerStars will host its largest-ever online US tournament series, and first multi-state online series for the recently combined player pool of Michigan and New Jersey, with the ‘PSPC Online’ running from January 13–30, 2023. For the shared player pool in MI and NJ, PSPC Online will award a guaranteed prize pool of $2.5 million across 85 events, with $1.5 million guaranteed for players in Pennsylvania in their own 72 event series.

“It was brilliant to see our communities in Michigan and New Jersey come out in force on January 1st to celebrate the combining of our player pool and enjoy our special New Year’s Day events and smash the guarantees,” said PokerStars US Managing Director, Severin Rasset. “We’re now excited to bring players our first multi-state online series and our largest online series to date in the US, where players have the chance to join in the Bahamian fun of the PSPC and play alongside their favourite players as they battle it out on the online tables.  There’s plenty more to come for the MI and NJ community and we look forward to exciting and awarding our players in 2023 and beyond.”

Taking inspiration from the $25,000 buy-in live PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) event in the Bahamas from January 30 – February 30, the buy-in for the Main Event of the online series is a more manageable $250 but will award a whopping $300,000 guaranteed prize pool. There is also a $50 buy-in Mini Main Event featuring a $75,000 guarantee and a $2,500 buy-in High Roller Main Event awarding a $125,000 guaranteed prize pool, meaning a massive $500,000 will be awarded to the PokerStars community in MI & NJ across the three Main Events. The Main Events action gets underway on January 29.

In Pennsylvania players can participate in the $150,000 Main Event also with a buy-in of $250 also on January 29.

Players of all bank roll sizes in MI, NJ, and PA can find the right event for them in PSPC Online, with buy-ins as low as $10, and satellites from just $1. Additionally, players can win Main Event seats via special $2.50 Spin and Go’s, or by depositing $50 or more using code ‘PSPCONLINE” after January 13 for a ticket to the Depositor Freeroll starting on January 29.

PokerStars combined MI and NJ player pools on January 1, 2023 giving poker fans more choice, more tournaments, more players and bigger prizes for the two states. To celebrate the coming together of the two states and to ring in the New Year, players enjoyed two special tournaments, a $100 buy-in event with $100,000 guaranteed, and a special $50,000 guaranteed event with only $10 to buy in. Both events exceeded their guarantees with the $100,000 event more than doubling its advertised prizepool, and the $50,000 event tipping the scales at $58,000 in prizes for the PokerStars community.
