Flutter Generates Over €270K for BUMBLEance at Dublin Charity Gala

In its inaugural Charity Gala in Dublin, IGAMING operator, Flutter, successfully garnered more than €270,000 in support of BUMBLEance, the esteemed children’s Ambulance Service in Ireland. This remarkable achievement will substantially aid BUMBLEance’s operational aspirations, with Flutter contributing a significant €125k, as disclosed by Ian Brown, CEO of Flutter UKI.

BUMBLEance stands out in the realm of non-profit organizations by ensuring safe and serene medical transport for young patients in Ireland. The service facilitates seamless transfers between homes and medical facilities, thereby alleviating potential financial burdens on families. Each ambulance is furnished with amenities such as TVs, PlayStations, iPad Airs, music systems, DVDs, and books, offering children a comforting environment during their travels.

The gala, held in the distinguished Round Room of Dublin’s Mansion House, provided the attendees with profound insights into the charity’s impact. Accounts from families illustrated the transformative influence of BUMBLEance. It was also highlighted that the organization aspires to exceed its current 2,000 annual trips, facilitated by its fleet of 14 ambulances.

Presided over by renowned Irish comedian, Deidre O’Kane, and the iconic Paddy Power, the gala witnessed a turnout of over 400 guests. The evening was punctuated with fundraising activities such as raffles and silent auctions, and entertaining showcases by magicians. The Dodder Dash race, featuring nine mascots, was a notable highlight. The audience was also addressed by representatives from BUMBLEance, Ian Brown, and Flutter’s CLO and Group Commercial Director, Pádraig Ó Ríordáin.

The event boasted an array of coveted prizes including tickets to the Rugby World Cup featuring Ireland vs. Scotland, autographed merchandise from celebrated sports figures such as Max Verstappen, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Neymar Jr.

This charity initiative aligns with Flutter’s global commitment, encapsulated in its Positive Impact Plan, to fortify community welfare. Their mission, termed ‘Do More’, aims to enrich the lives of 10 million individuals by 2030. This endeavor leverages Flutter’s expansive reach and the unwavering dedication of its team members. The subsequent Flutter Charity Gala is slated for 22nd November in Leeds.

Anna Earley, Corporate Partnership Manager, at BUMBLEance said: “Flutter’s Charity Ball was such a unique event for us at BUMBLEance and we received our largest donation in one day from Flutter Entertainment. The whole team were in shock at the success of the event – we can now concentrate on our progressive and transformative plans for reaching even more children across the Island of Ireland.

“In line with our current strategy, this donation can support driving awareness of BUMBLEance, benefitting our next moves to set-up satellite services regionally across Ireland, expanding into Northern Ireland where one in four children live in poverty and struggle to reach their appointments, and review our fleet of ambulances. This event has fast tracked our efforts to grow and to ensure every child has access to their healthcare treatment. What an amazing gift from the team at Flutter.”

Pádraig Ó Ríordáin, CLO and Group Commercial Director at Flutter, said: “Last week’s Charity Ball held in Dublin in aid of BUMBLEance was a fantastic success. It was a pleasure to take part in fundraising for this wonderful charity which provides an essential service for young hospital patients in Ireland.

“We are grateful for the generosity of attendees and donors who collectively helped us to more than double our original fundraising target. The success of this event is testament to the positive impact Flutter can have on its communities and I am looking forward to seeing more of these events take place under the banner of the Do More pillar of our Positive Impact Plan.”
