SOFTSWISS Sportsbook Releases Q1 2024 Sports Betting Analysis

SOFTSWISS Sportsbook has published its analysis for Q1 2024, highlighting significant trends and performance metrics in the sports betting sector. The analysis reveals a strong preference for real-time wagering among bettors. This trend not only increases engagement but also allows sports betting operators to achieve higher margins and quicker capital turnover, positioning live betting as a key driver of profitability.

The shift from desktop to mobile betting continues to gain momentum, with mobile devices accounting for 90% of the Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), up from 86% the previous year. This underscores the growing importance of mobile-friendly betting solutions and indicates that operators focusing on mobile integration and user experience are likely to secure a larger market share.

In terms of sports popularity by GGR, football maintains its dominance, while tennis has surpassed basketball for the second spot. The inclusion of American football in the top five, largely influenced by the Super Bowl in February, demonstrates the impact of major sporting events on betting behavior. Ice hockey remains a strong contender, reflecting its consistent appeal to bettors.

Q1 2024 marked a period of substantial growth for SOFTSWISS Sportsbook. Turnover increased by 246% compared to Q1 2023, with a month-on-month growth from Q4 2023 of 136%. Revenue also saw a significant rise, jumping 251% year-on-year, with consistent month-on-month growth of 136%. These figures highlight the platform’s expanding popularity and its increasing effectiveness and attractiveness to operators.

To support the industry, the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook team has introduced a free Sportsbook Budget Calculator, assisting businesses in estimating the costs and benefits of launching a sports betting project. Additionally, in celebration of its 15th anniversary, SOFTSWISS is offering new Sportsbook clients free access to the Jackpot Aggregator for all local jackpot campaigns for the first 150 days after launch.

Alexander Kamenetskyi, Head of SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, reflects on these developments: “The trends we’ve observed in Q1’24 emphasise our platform’s adaptability and growth while also underscoring critical dynamics in player preferences and technological advancements. Our focus on enhancing live and mobile betting capabilities directly responds to these insights, aiming to provide our partners and their customers with superior betting experiences.”
