iGaming and betting operator Spreadex Sports has expanded its Starting Stalls sponsorship agreement across UK horse racing, increasing its coverage from 20 to 22 racecourses for the 2026 summer flat season.
The agreement extends Spreadex Sports branding across 17 racecourses in England, three in Scotland and two in Wales, further increasing the operator’s visibility within the British racing sector. The sponsorship takes effect immediately and comes at a time when several betting operators have reduced or ended long-running racing partnerships amid wider pressures on industry funding and operating costs.
The iGaming and betting sector continues to play a significant role in British horse racing revenues, with the sport generating more than £8 billion in annual betting turnover. Recent changes to taxation and marketing strategies have led some operators to reassess sponsorship activity, particularly following the Remote Gaming Duty increase.
Starting Stalls sponsorship provides branding exposure at the beginning of races, both on-course and through television broadcasts. Spreadex Sports’ updated agreement includes fixtures at venues such as Newbury, Doncaster, Ayr, Musselburgh, Hamilton and Carlisle during the flat racing season.
Spreadex Sports has offered horse racing spread betting markets since its launch in 1999. Its racing products include Race Indices, Winning Favourites, Distances and Match Bets, alongside broader sportsbook and iGaming offerings.
The expansion of the sponsorship agreement signals continued investment by Spreadex Sports in UK horse racing as operators and racing stakeholders continue to assess long-term commercial funding models across the betting and iGaming industries.
