Bede Gaming has announced an extension of its platform agreement with SunBet, the online sports betting brand of Sun International. SunBet, a major player in the South African online market, has shown remarkable growth in the first half of 2024, reporting a 72% year-on-year increase in revenue, a 72% rise in active players, and an 89% improvement in EBITDA.
As a trusted software provider to the iGaming sector, Bede Gaming has been instrumental in supporting SunBet’s growth through tailored solutions and efficiencies. Since launching SunBet Slots in 2022, Bede has integrated seven new game providers, enhanced Kambi Sportsbook functionalities, and delivered bespoke training on its rules engine and bonusing suite.
In 2024, Bede has collaborated with SunBet to:
- Optimize infrastructure, targeting a 30% reduction in total ownership costs by year-end,
- Develop a custom aggregator tool to streamline content for the South African market,
- Expand into new regulated markets, including Namibia and Botswana, set to launch later this year.
The partnership between Bede and SunBet began in 2017, initially focusing on sports betting and live casino. Following regulatory changes in 2022 that enabled slots content, SunBet has successfully leveraged Bede’s platform to broaden its digital offering, fueling its recent performance gains.
