Super Group Introduces ZAR Supercoin in South Africa

Super Group, the parent company of Betway and Spin, has announced the launch of a new stable digital currency called ZAR Supercoin. The initiative, led by the company’s newly formed division Super Money SA, is designed to operate within South Africa and broader African markets.

The ZAR Supercoin will be supported by a dedicated Supercoin Wallet, offering users the ability to conduct blockchain-based transactions and access digital payment solutions. The company stated that the initiative aims to enhance financial utility and accessibility across the continent through secure and interoperable digital currency infrastructure.

Super Group plans to integrate the Supercoin with its Betway sportsbook operations in future phases, enabling customers to use the token for transactions and loyalty-driven initiatives. The move aligns with broader trends in the iGaming and financial technology sectors, as operators explore blockchain-based tools to improve efficiency and expand payment options in regulated markets.

The introduction of ZAR Supercoin positions Super Money SA to participate in Africa’s growing digital finance ecosystem, with regional stablecoin transaction volumes estimated at around $100 billion annually.
