Betsson Joins BNP Paribas Nordic Open as Main Sponsor

Betsson, a global sports betting and gaming operator, has announced its new role as the main sponsor of the BNP Paribas Nordic Open. This event is recognized as the largest tennis tournament in the Nordics and holds the distinction of being the oldest indoor tournament in the world. Betsson’s involvement in tennis sponsorships is notable, including having former player Jonas Björkman as an ambassador and supporting ATP tournaments in Latin America.

Originally known as the Stockholm Open, the tournament was founded in 1969 and has featured legendary players such as John McEnroe, Björn Borg, Ivan Lendl, and Roger Federer. This year’s tournament will be broadcast on public television starting October 12. As part of the sponsorship, Betsson will have significant visibility during the matches, organize on-site activities, and offer betting odds on all matches.

Betsson’s global sponsorship portfolio spans various sports and football clubs. The company supports several football clubs in Italy, is the title sponsor of the Greek Cup in football, and serves as the main jersey sponsor for Boca Juniors, Racing de Avellaneda, and Atlético Nacional.

The BNP Paribas Nordic Open is scheduled to take place from October 12–20, 2024, at the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm.

“We are extremely proud to sponsor and support this classic tournament. We have sponsored ATP tournaments before, but it feels extra special to do so in Sweden, where the company was founded over 60 years ago, just before the first Stockholm Open. We hope that through our support of the competition, our odds on the players, and our on-site activities, we can contribute to making the experience more enjoyable and memorable for everyone,” says Ronni Hartvig, Chief Commercial Officer of Betsson Group.

“We are thrilled to welcome Betsson as the new main partner for the BNP Paribas Nordic Open. This partnership marks a significant milestone for our tournament, as Betsson’s extensive experience in sports sponsorship will elevate the profile and reach of the event. We eagerly anticipate the dynamic activities and offers that Betsson will bring to our fans, confident that these will make the experience even more engaging and memorable for everyone involved,” says Rasmus Hult, CEO of BNP Paribas Nordic Open.
