Bettormetrics Launches World Cup Trading Benchmark

Sports betting analytics company Bettormetrics has launched a World Cup Trading Performance Benchmark, analysing in-play trading availability across major sportsbooks ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The study assessed operator uptime in the Total Goals market across 1,752 matches from Europe’s five major domestic football leagues: the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1. The analysis ranked the top 10 performers from a sample of 22 operators active across Latin America, Europe, the UK, Ireland and the United States.

According to Bettormetrics, the results revealed a gap of more than 12 percentage points between the highest and lowest-performing operators, highlighting differences in trading performance ahead of one of the busiest periods on the sports betting calendar.

Tipico ranked first overall with uptime of 95.9%, followed by Betsson on 94.9%, Betano on 94.8% and Superbet on 94.7%. Bettormetrics said several operators with strong performance in other leagues recorded lower availability figures in La Liga, which produced the lowest average availability across the study.

The Premier League generated the highest availability figures overall, reflecting its position as the highest-turnover football league globally and the priority it receives from sportsbook trading teams.

Among US operators, Fanatics recorded the strongest result, finishing third overall in the benchmark and ahead of other major American sportsbooks included in the study.

The report also found that established UK and Irish operators bet365, William Hill, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power did not feature in the top 10 rankings.

Bettormetrics said the findings suggest trading performance leadership is becoming increasingly geographically diverse, with operators from continental Europe, Latin America and the United States demonstrating competitive results in football markets.

The company plans to expand the benchmark during the World Cup itself through a live leaderboard tracking sportsbook trading performance throughout the tournament.

Bettormetrics said operators will also be able to access its Trading Analytics Platform during the World Cup group stage to compare their own in-play trading performance against the wider market and monitor sportsbook availability metrics in real time.

Sabin Brooks, CEO of Bettormetrics, said: “The World Cup represents one of the highest-risk and highest-opportunity periods in the sportsbook calendar. Small differences in uptime, trading performance and market availability can have a material impact on turnover, profitability and even reputation.

“The World Cup leaderboard will answer one simple question: which sportsbook performed best when it matters most?

“Our objective is not simply to measure performance, but to help operators understand where they can improve. That’s why we’re providing complimentary access to the Bettormetrics Trading Analytics Platform during the World Cup group stage, allowing operators to benchmark themselves against the wider market and see first-hand how our observability platform can drive better trading outcomes.”
