Super Group (SGHC) Limited, parent company of igaming brands Betway and Spin, has announced that former professional footballer Thierry Henry has signed on as a global ambassador for the Betway brand.
Henry’s career began at AS Monaco before moving to Arsenal in 1999, where he became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer. He won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups during his time with the club, including playing a central role in the unbeaten 2003/04 “Invincibles” season. After a transfer to Barcelona in 2007, he contributed to the club’s treble-winning 2008/09 campaign, which included the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and Copa del Rey.
On the international stage, Henry won the FIFA World Cup with France in 1998 and the UEFA European Championship in 2000. Following his retirement from professional play, he has held various coaching roles and established himself as a regular presence in football media.
The appointment of Henry as Betway’s global ambassador is part of the company’s broader marketing and engagement strategy, as it continues to expand the reach of its igaming offerings across multiple regions.
Neal Menashe, Chief Executive Officer, Super Group commented: “Thierry Henry is a true soccer legend and sporting great, and it is with immense pleasure that we welcome him into the Betway family of ambassadors and partners. Our deal with Thierry’s former-club Arsenal has been a flagship part of our marketing strategy over the last two years. We look forward to sharing his expert insights and exclusive content with our customers across the world”.
The deal marks the start of domestic football leagues in Europe, in a season which will culminate in ‘World Cup 2026’ in North America. Henry remarked: “”Football’s always been about action and excitement, and that’s what Betway brings to fans in a unique way. I’m really looking forward to being part of something that connects people to the game they love.”
