HKJC Reports Record iGaming Bets on Ka Ying Rising

Hong Kong Jockey Club reported record igaming and betting activity on Ka Ying Rising during the G1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize, with total World Pool Win turnover reaching HK$97.1 million.

The majority of igaming and betting interest was concentrated on the winning horse, with approximately HK$94.4 million placed on Ka Ying Rising at minimum odds of 1.05. This represented more than 97% of all Win pool bets for the race, while the remaining field attracted HK$2.7 million in combined wagers.

The total Win pool figure surpassed the previous record of HK$63.8 million, which had also been set earlier in the month when Ka Ying Rising won the G2 Sprint Cup. The latest performance marked the horse’s 20th consecutive victory, contributing to sustained betting concentration in the market.

Across the full FWD Champions Day racecard, which featured 11 races, total igaming and betting turnover reached HK$1.798 billion, an increase of 18% compared to HK$1.52 billion in the previous year. The figures indicate higher overall engagement across the event, supported by strong interest in headline races.

The World Pool, which aggregates international betting liquidity across participating operators, has been positioned as a mechanism to increase scale and competitiveness in global racing markets. High-profile events such as the Chairman’s Sprint Prize continue to generate concentrated wagering activity, particularly when outcomes are strongly favoured.

The latest figures reflect broader trends in igaming and racing-related betting, where significant volumes can be driven by dominant participants and major international race meetings.

Hong Kong Jockey Club Chief Executive Officer Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, said: “I’ve never seen a tote figure like this, with almost HK$100million in the Win pool and the second favourite returning at odds of 90.50.

“Ka Ying Rising is by far the best horse in the sprinting world that we’ve ever seen. He breaks the track record again. The effortlessness in how he dominates the race against a world-class sprinter in Satono Reve, it is absolutely sensational.”
